Winds of Change is an operating foundation begun in 1998 to provide focus and a curriculum for re-thinking the definition of "leader" and traditional notions of how power is defined, shared and exercised.

Foundation activities include: Research and public education on diverse styles of leadership; fellowships, events, publications and conferences; team mentorship programs; and conflict resolution training that integrates diverse perspectives and approaches.

The Foundation will focus on women leaders in its first research project, a joint effort with the Wellesley Center for Research on Women at Wellesley College. The project will study accomplished women leaders and their goals, challenges and needs. The Foundation will publish a report and host its first series of seminars in Winter 2001.

The Foundation supports its efforts as a sole sponsor and in collaboration with like-minded philanthropists, foundations and institutions of higher learning.
